The Lemmings kick-off is not a good one, and it's bounced off the field. Not a great start to their second half there, and the Horde are not happy!! The Touchback goes to Raiders #6 catcher John Smith (Esq.) as the human scrimmage line surges forward. L#11 Werdigoe and L#9 Ripizeyezout go down to the combined might of Axe, Jimmy Stein, and Greasy Jones. The Prof takes on Linerat Skab and forces him down, and Linerat Vinny is taken down by Tucker Fouler with an inspired elbow to the snout that is going to take some time to recover from - ouch! Popper Bennet returns to the game with some gusto as he shows linerat Pinky who's boss, Sir David of Beckingham ably floors Vince Hamstrong, and St.John-Smithe steamrollers L#5 Stuart! What an offense that was, there's only one rat left standing on the scrimmage line!

* Werdigoe, Ripizeyezout and Skab are back on their feet and they're snarling!! L#10 Gonzales shows off his patented "Hamster Cannonball" attack and blitzes John Smith at high speed, while he's being held down by Skyrr Venomax! Bullseye!! Smith goes down in a heap as the ball flies into the crowd - he's out for the count! Venomax is there to catch the throw-in and tries to find some space and a prospective catcher - this could be interesting, Bob!

There's a big push from the scrimmage line while that's going on as Bennet, The Prof and Axe are pushed back by Pinky, Skab and Ripizeyezout. And there goes L#11 Werdigoe who makes a break through the Raiders scrimmage line! He's caught Venomax' eye! Venomax longbombs the ball - and the Horde are going nuts as they witness a "Skyrr's Throwback"!! It sails above the heads of Raiders Jones and Stein but... oh!! Werdigoe couldn't secure the ball!

* Great shame that, Bob - that was an incredible throw from Venomax, going through the hands of two of the Raiders best catchers! They really should have intercepted that, but it came in a bit too fast and hard for Werdigoe to bring under his control, and it's landed next to him. The Raiders are still in trouble here!

Jimmy Stein has run back for the ball for the Raiders, and he's fumbled it! It's bouncing ahead of him and he's having to chase after it! Boy, this must be embarrassing for him! Greasy Jones runs back to help him.. and he's also missed it!

* They must have covered that ball with muskrat grease, Bob!

Gee, thanks for that thought, Jim...! Ok, Jones has finally secured the ball and does a quick pass forward to Sir Beckingham, who catches it! St. John Smithe moves back to support his captain, while the line pushes forward to get those rats out of the way. Pinky and Skab lose their position thanks to Bennet and the Prof, and Axe puts Ripizeyezout on his tail!

* Ooh, Fouler's trying to cause a bit of extra pain to linerat Vinny while he's down but the rat's too nimble for him even though he's on the floor! Fortunately the ref is still largely oblivious to everything going on!

Could be because those eyesockets are looking suspiciously empty, Jim - the ref must have lost his eyes in the halftime break!

* A lot of the rats are back on their feet and they look like they mean business! Venomax and Gonzales run through a gap in the sideline and head for Beckingham, while L#8 Hamstrong and Stuart break through on the other sideline in a great pincer movement! There are a lot of rats in the Raiders half now and they're converging on Sir Beckingham, who has the ball! On the way, Hamstrong bulldozes St. John-Smithe who is swatted aside! Werdigoe takes on Jones who is shoved away, but Ripizeyezout goes down when trying to block Axe.

That rodent is not having a great second half, Jim - still, he doesn't look injured. St.John-Smithe blitzes L#10 Gonzales with some help from Jimmy Stein... and that clears the way for Beckingham to throw! Great move from the Raiders! R#4 catcher Greasy Jones dashes up the sideline toward the Lemmings endzone, but Beckingham chooses to throw the ball to to R#3 Axe but the throw is not good and the ball overshoots! The captain's gotta be kicking himself for that error, Jones was wide open there!

* L#9 Ripizeyezout struggles to his feet but the Raiders are not letting the Lemmings have any room here, and R#3 Axe swats him back down and tries to rescue the ball! It's a mad scramble on the pitch as Axe, The Prof, and L#2 Skab all jump on the ball and it's gone out of their reach... and Axe has broken free and scoops up the ball! Quick pass follows to R#4 Jones who's in a great position here, and he sprints away from the pack down the sideline with it! L#11 Werdigoe spots Jones tearing down the sideline away from him from deep in the Raiders half, and goes into hyperspeed chasing after him! It's a great burst of speed from the young Gutter Runner, but even that's not going to be enough to catch him given that gap between them! All the rats can do is watch helplessly as Jones knows full well that he can't be caught by anyone, and sauters across the field to hop over the touchline into the Lemmings Endzone to score an easy TD! The Albion fans roar their approval as more of the Horde leap off the stands in dismay! TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS!!!! It's Raiders 2, Lemmings 1!!!

Excellent play there from the Raiders, Jim - but Jones was really rubbing it in when he practically walked into the endzone. Great effort by Werdigoe to catch him down the sideline though, I think he may have melted some of the granite with that run!

* The game goes on, as R#6 John Smith returns from the Knock-out box after that cannonball run from Gonzales. The Lemmings have practically all their rats at the scrimmage line, with only Gonzales in the backfield - they know they've got to bolster up their defence here! The kick lands but bounces back into the Raiders half, and Gonzales receives the touchback -

And there's a Raiders Team Blitz, Jim!!!The Raiders surge forwards and the Lemmings are caught off-guard! Hamstrong is pushed back and Ripizeyezout is back down on his tail again. R#6 Smith goes down as he wrestles with Werdigoe, who's just a bit too agile for him.

* The Lemmings seem to have recovered rapidly from that attack as Ripizeyezout gets back on his feet again and the scrimmage line hardens up! Hamstrong and Stuart take on Stein and Axe and push them out of the way, as L#11 Werdigoe dashes through the gap, dodges around Axe and makes a dash for it, ending up deep in the Raiders half! Gonzales follows through the gap with the ball and throws the ball to Werdigoe - Axe tries to get in the way and fails, but the throw isn't good and lands next to Werdigoe! Axe runs for the ball, along with Smith who's back on his feet! This could be risky for the rats as Smith and Axe are now between Gonzales and the ball! Hamstrong and Stuart run forward to support their Captain... but oh my! Look at that footwork!!

Folks, Speedy Gonzales is literally hopscotching around Smith and Axe who just can't get a grip on the plucky rodent! He's got around them and makes a swipe for the ball, nearly loses it, but he's got it and is barrelling toward the endzone! This rat is pushing himself to his limit - but he's in! TOUCHDOWN LEMMINGS!

* Bob, that was one amazing turn of speed and agility from Gonzales. This rodent has a real talent here and he is certainly going to go very far if he continues this sort of performance - he sure isn't intimidated by anyone or anything! The Horde know it too, and they are going absolutely crazy out there!!!! It's Raiders 2, Lemmings 2!! I think we're seeing a star in the making!

I'm not sure that we're going to see any more TDs as we're approaching the end of the fast-moving second half! Raiders #7 Gale seems to have recovered from his concussion early in the first half and is joining his teammates on the scrimmage line. The Lemmings kick off, but again the kick isn't a good one and the ball bounces sideways into the Raiders midfield!

* The Lemmings kickers don't seem to be doing so well here, Bob - could be they're not used to the Astrogranite pitch perhaps. Or maybe they're just having a bad day.

Gale's made a dash back for the ball - he's got it and is looking for a target. Jones and Stein gang up on linerat Stuart and he goes down... but R#6 John Smith is attempting to break through the Lemmings scrimmage line! He's got past Hamstrong and he dodges past the prone L#5 Stuart - and he's through!! Gale spots him and longbombs the ball to Smith!! But he's mis-judged the throw and the ball scatters! Great effort from the Raiders, they're pushing it to the very last here, determined to get in one last TD!

* Linerat Stuart's back on his feet and runs back to blitz Smith, and manages to push him out of the way and clear a path to the ball! L#11 Werdigo dashes back and grabs the ball, and runs across the Lemmings backfield obviously looking for someone to throw to - this could be dangerous for the Raiders! More action on the line as Ripizeyezout takes down Sir Beckingham... and Werdigoe attempts a short pass to team captain Gonzales - but he's missed him and the ball's on the floor! It's really hotting up here as we enter the last few seconds!

R#5 Jimmy Stein runs forward to get into a good position as R#13 The Prof blocks linerat Vinny. R#4 Jones runs for the ball from the scrimmage line but he overshoots and misses it! Vinny gets back on his feet, Werdigoe blitzes Jones and prevents him from getting the ball! Ripizeyezout attempts to get in one last block on Sir Beckingham but is brought down instead as the final whistle blows - AND IT'S OVER!!! Final score at the end of normal time: New Albion Raiders 2, Lykstag Lemmings 2!!! What a game!! And it's not over yet!

* We've seen some superb play from both teams here - they were really turning that astrogranite red! We've got a bit of a change now, Bob - unlike the usual Blood Bowl league games, the Albion Rules don't allow for extra time and go instead straight into a penalty shoot-out! Apparently if they were to go into extra time then Albion teams would miss out on their evening tea and scones, which is about as big a part of their lives as beard-trimming is for the Dwarves...

Jim, these local customs are sometimes totally crazy!! It's a shame it's got to end on penalties though - this has been too good a game to decide on what might as well be the throw of a dice. The Lemmings kicks haven't been too good today and that could cost them now!

* OK... They're about ready to kick the first penalty down there... we don't usually see penalty shootouts in the normal leagues because of the "sudden death" nature of extra time. Just to remind our viewers, the aim here is to kick the ball from the centre of the field so that it lands somewhere in the opponents endzone - Albion rules state that the first team to miss a penalty loses the game! It looks like the Lemmings will be kicking off first, and the team captain Speedy Gonzales steps forward to take the first kick. He's had an excellent game today, and is getting more confident every time we see him! He's lining up... he kicks... and it's in the endzone! The Horde goes wild! Lemmings are leading 1-0 on penalties!

Yes Jim, Gonzales is really asserting himself here as team captain - he's surely going to go far. Andy "Lobber" Gale steps forward to take the first Raiders penalty kick. He's been unfortunate today as he spent much of the game concussed in the dugout, but what we've seen of him looks good. He looks calm as he eyes the ball... kicks it good and hard... and it's in the zone! That's one weight off his back now as the Albion fans celebrate - it's 1-1!

* Tension is rising steadily here as Vince Hamstrong steps up to take the next Lemmings penalty. He certainly would have done his brother proud if he was still alive today. There's no nonsense from this determined young Skaven as he briskly does a good kick... and it's in! It's 2-1 to the Lemmings!

Jim, I can see Lemmings coach "The Brain" looking anxiously from the sidelines - I can't imagine what's going through his head right now. Then again, I probably don't want to either... Raiders #8 St.John-Smithe steps forward to take the Raiders penalty - he's done well this game, surviving after being thrown into the crowd in the first half! The crowd quieten down as he lines up the ball... he kicks.... and it's good! The Raiders have equalised!!!

* I don't know how long this can continue, Bob. The tension is certainly killing me! OK. Looks like a bit of a squabble is going on in the Lemmings camp as they try to decide who's going to take this. I think the rats have got to be feeling the pressure now. Linerat Skab is shoved out of the fray, and it looks like he's been volunteered to take the penalty!! He doesn't look too confident - this could be chancy for the Lemmings! The crowds quieten down again... he lines up... he kicks... OH NO!!! It's short!!! The ball has fallen short of the endzone and the penalty is not good!! That's a major blow for the rats - it's still 2-2, and the Raiders now have a great chance to win the game - Remember, if they get the next penalty in then according to Albion rules they have won!

The Horde is hissing and spitting its displeasure, and it's not a pretty sight! Doesn't look like Skab is too happy down there either, Jim - he's getting a good mauling from his team-mates! This could be it for the Lemmings!

* So it all comes down to one man - either he can score now and win the game, or the penalties will continue until someone screws up again. And... it's Beckingham! The Raiders captain is stepping forward to take what is probably the most crucial kick of the game! The crowd have quietened down now, apart from the odd crumpled squeak from the more despondent Lemmings fans who think it's over and have started to jump off the stands already! There's a lot of pressure on this young man as he lines up for the kick. He takes a couple of steps back... runs for the ball and gives it a solid kick... it's sailing through the air... and it's IN!!!! HE'S SCORED!!! FINAL SCORE: 3-2 to the Raiders on penalties!!!

The Raiders team - and their fans - are going absolutely crazy down there!!! This is a great vindication for Beckingham after the shame of that terrible sportsmanship incident in Lustria, and he's just lapping up the adoration there!! The inns are going to be full of boisterously jubilant Raiders fans tonight, though huge numbers of the Horde are leaping off the stands in defeat, as usual. An exciting end to an excellent match! At least the Lemmings can go away knowing that although they have lost, they are certainly still a team to be reckoned with - at this rate, it's only a matter of time before they gnaw and claw their way to a well-deserved victory! The Raiders leave this game as the victors, having won against a tenacious visiting team who just wouldn't crack under the pressure until the very end!! A great match, Jim!!

* Yes Bob, it's been a superb game. You've got to feel for the Lemmings as they fought hard for the whole game, but in the end someone's got to lose and they were unlucky that it had to be them. But the Raiders fans will be celebrating all night long here in Albion! Final score is New Albion Raiders 2, Lykstag Lemming 2, with Raiders winning on penalties!!
